Get Flipped!™ at Maroon 5 CD Release Party

For the past four years, Get Flipped!™ has been the leader in providing unique, interactive event photography with our animated Flip Photos™. We take two photos and instantly combine them into one to make you move and have fun while taking a picture! With this in mind, we created a new “flip” experience for the attendees at the Maroon 5 CD release party on May 22, at The Lot in Los Angeles. The promoters of the event, Dishell Multimedia Group, had used Get Flipped!™ at the Justin Timberlake CD release party the year before and saw what a hit it was and as a result used us again for the Maroon 5 event.

There were about 250 to 300 people at the event which included video games, air hockey and areas to play instruments, but Get Flipped!™ provided the only take home souvenir of the evening. Furthermore, the Flip Photos™ flashed “Official Release Party 05-22-08” on top, making a unique collectors item from the event.

For this high-profile event we combined the use of actual guitars with stock artwork of the Maroon 5 band for the Get Flipped!™ photo experience. Guests had an incredible time rockin’ out while they posed for their Flip Photos™ (photo 1) with the Maroon CD cover as the background; the second photo was of stock art of the band with the same “M” logo as the background (photo 2). Within minutes attendees were given a 4x3 magnet or luggage tag as a take home souvenir. The Flip Photos™ were so popular that band members themselves Got Flipped!

The difference with this year’s Flip Photos™ was that the second photo was of the band, where as the original Flip Photos™ are of two photos of the guests themselves. By doing this, it was as if each attendee had taken a picture with the band and were right there in the studio with them.

Our concept of the Flip Photos™ makes taking a picture much more fun and interactive than traditional posed photography. We take two pictures and interlace them with our proprietary software, then place a prismatic lenticular lens on top and voila! You have motion. In addition, we try to make the final product a functional photo, one that can be used as a luggage tag or magnet.
Get Flipped!’s™ success at the event is evident by the fact that over 350Flip Photos™ were made in the four hours. So guests were able to make multiple photos with different poses.

Get Flipped!™ has taken traditional event photography to the next dimension with our movement of the hand-held photo. Our creative custom graphics are another signature item of the Get Flipped!™ brand.
